Filters Located in the Base Grill
In the grille region of the refrigerator, a large number of water filters may be found towards the bottom front of the device. Most of the time, these grille-mounted filters are fairly simple to remove and reinstall. If you believe it is stuck, it is possible that you have not twisted it in the proper direction or that you have not pushed the button all the way in.
Quarter Turn Filter
- To remove the water filter, turn it a quarter turn to the left on the water filter. Normally, the cap will be oriented vertically
- However, this is not always the case. Take the water filter from of the water supply completely. Remove the cap (which may be required on some models)
- To remove the water filter, turn it a quarter turn to the left on the water filter assembly. Most of the time, the cap will be positioned vertically
- Nevertheless, this may not always be the case. Take the water filter out of the water supply completely

If the water filter is stuck
- Cover the water filter cap with a piece of cloth (this will assist to prevent the cap from being damaged)
- Lock onto the water filter cap with normal pliers and spin the cap a quarter turn.

If the water filter is stuck
- While the water filter is being expelled, press and hold down the button. The filter should be activated first, followed by the button. In order for the filter to disengage from the filter assembly, it must: Remove the bottom grill from the refrigerator by unplugging it and following the directions in the Installation Instructions. Because of the removal of the bottom grill, you should have easier access to the clogged filter.
- Push down firmly on the button, then look to see if the filter has shifted. If the filter has shifted, firmly press it back into place and then firmly push the button once more to reset it. The future will be made easier as a result of this.
Note: Don’t forget to remove the filter cap from the end of the filter before you begin.

The following is what occurs when the o-rings for the filter become dry. Then, when it comes time to remove the filter, it becomes stuck in place. First and foremost, I propose that you cut off the water to the refrigerator. You can drill two holes into the end of the filter, one cross from the other, if one of the filter’s ends has been broken off accidentally.
- Place a screwdriver between the jaws of the pliers while holding them in the hole and try to spin the filter while doing so.
- Apply a little amount of Vaseline on the o-rings of the new filter before installing it.
