The water coming directly from the tap and the water flowing through the Pur filter both gave me the same reading of 142.

It was water from a five-gallon container of water that gave me the lowest reading of 9, which I obtained from Walmart.

I can now rest certain that we are drinking safe water when traveling because we are staying in rented accommodations.

I returned them to Amazon and went out and purchased others from a local box shop.

What the hell happened to the quality of these filters, anyway? There have been rumors that PUR was recently purchased, which might explain the precipitous reduction in quality. After years of dependable service, I suppose it’s time to consider installing a reverse osmosis system.

So, after informing him that I had previously done so, I went to double-check that it was correctly installed, which I later discovered was impossible because these things cannot be placed backwards.

To my surprise, it continued to flicker red.

Having decided to allow it a few minutes to maybe reset or something, I went ahead and attempted it once more.

According to the user handbook, which I obtained from Pur’s website after removing the previous filter, the system will automatically reset when the filter is removed.

I, on the other hand, do not believe in coincidences.

There are what appear to be scrape marks and adhesive splattered all over the area.
