When I purchased it, I had no way of knowing which was the genuine article and which was a knock-off – I simply looked for a fairly priced cat fountain, came on the isyoung, and purchased it.

In the past, I’ve purchased circular filters that did not have the plastic casing on one side, such as the ones seen below.
However, when I got a second batch of the same, it appeared that they had been cut incorrectly since they were approximately 1/8″ too large, causing them to bunch up when I placed them in the well below the snap-on plastic cover.
It was as a result of this that I got THESE filters since, as I previously stated, the fountains themselves appear to be same, yes?
However, as it turns out, these do not fit into the well of my isyoung fountain!
